One Frame At A Time

SXSW 2017

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to head to Austin, Texas, to meet up with SXSW. I was on assignment for Puma to capture their "Music Is Universal" event thrown in conjunction with Universal Music Group. I arrived on Thursday afternoon where I dropped off my bags and linked up with fellow photographer and business partner Ryan Millier. We headed to the venue together and photographed an energetic line-up of emerging artist such at 070 Shake and Desiinger.

The next day, I lagged behind to get out of bed as I was up till 3:00 am the night before editing images from the event.  I did manage to muster up enough energy to meet up with my homie Andre Power of Soulection. We grabbed a drink, shared some laughs, and bullshitted as we often do in whatever city we happen to find each other in.

Later that afternoon, I headed over to the Puma event space where I linked up with Ryan, once again, where we got ready to shoot day two of the "Music Is Universal". After grabbing a few drinks, we were notified that Lil Yachty was walking over with his fifty person entourage and that's when shit started to pop off. Yachty seemed to be on edge after almost getting in a fight with someone in the crowd who shouted that he had no energy. Nothing ended up happening as the incident was quickly defused. Once he finished his set, Metroboomin played at least 30 bangers in a row that he produced. He might be the best hip-hop producer of our time.

Overall SXSW was fucking lit! I am looking forward to Miami for Ultra Miami Festival
